Icke & Er are two perfectly normal guys from Berlin-Spandau representing Northern Berlin in their songs.
Icke has just turned 28. He’s the younger one. There are no childhood dramas worth mentioning and if there were any, they would long have been overcome. Icke & Er are two relaxed guys and though it hasn’t always been easy for them, they’ve learned to cope with the past.
Icke & Er have known each other for ages. They’ve always been together, hanging out together, chilling, cruising, making music. Er in particular. Icke is the outgoing entertainer. Er is the quiet geek. Icke is extremely short sighted, Er is a diabetic. Together they are one, Icke & Er.
In fact, Icke isn’t really into rap but Er has detected his potential and kept bugging him and that’s how “Richtig geil” came into being.
They’ve put “Richtig geil” online just for fun and now Four Music has signed them (though Er would rather be with DefJam).
The next thing they realise is that they’re pop stars. Basically, that’s OK, but Icke & Er are determined to keep a low profile and not to turn into one of those odd B-list celebrities and that’s why they don’t do promotion. It’s fine to record songs, shoot videos and put all the stuff online. But the rest of one’s life should remain private.
Money, power, guns and girls are not the most important things in the world when you’re Icke & Er from Berlin-Spandau – and never planned to become famous in the first place.
