The Kiosk are a trio of ultra talented musicians hailing from Germany. Comprised of producers Roy Strobel and Mike Rubin and vocalist Beccy Boo the group are set to release their debut single on these shores this September through Fine Records. ‘GoGoGo’ is immensely catchy and it seems destined to set dance floors and iPods alight this autumn.
‘GoGoGo’ creeps up on your ears with short rumbles of bass, before the beat, waving synth lines and vocal hook kicks in to give the track its driving force. Teasing percussive elements bound around the mix resulting in a track that’ll happily soundtrack any dance floor.
The Coburn remix takes the track a little further into cut up territory, employing the same strong beat whilst twisting it around bleeps and synth swells before the vocal really cuts loose, running comfortably over the textured bass line.
After being supplied with the rough outlines of ‘GoGoGo’, vocalist Beccy Boo was drafted in to complete the composition. After the group became so enthralled with the results she was asked to join the band as a fully fledged member, who’s vital to the group as she brings her soulful roots to the studio to create a sound that would become so much richer than straightforward house.
When Mike Rubin and Roy Ströbel produced their first song for their new project, The Kiosk, it was strictly an instrumental track. Through a good friend and fellow DJ came the idea to record female vocals to give the track the "final touch". Rubin and Ströbel man the boards hashing out the musical ideas fresh from their studio and they then give Beccy free reign to add her parts using her voice to convey the mood or feeling she takes from the music she’s presented with.
‘GoGoGo’ is just the tip of the Kiosk shaped iceberg and proves that this outfit are definitely one to watch out for in the future.
