The Canadian born and Berlin based Musician Dominic Salole aka Mocky started at 17 by signing himself and his various alter-egos and releasing cassettes and 7''es on his label Mocky Recordings under different pseudonyms.
In 2002 Mocky was playing much publicized concerts for the animals at zoos across Europe (and getting kicked out more than once). This is where Mocky learned the sensitive skills of the improviser.
In 2003 he built up a reputation for bringing those same skills to the club, "for humans this time". With the release of his debut album "In Mesopotamia" on Mocky Recordings (later licensed to labels in Japan, Australia and Germany) Mocky gained recognition for his funky, raw production style and introspective raps and melodies, culminating in the craze about his underground hit "Sweet Music" in 2003/2004.
2004 saw the release of Mocky's second full length album "Are+Be" featuring a cast of guests like Jamie Lidell, Feist or Taylor Savvy. The third single from the album "Catch A Moment in Time" was the first Mocky track to enter official single charts in early 2005 at number 16. Mocky went on to support the record by touring with a 5 piece live band in an effort to bring back live instrumentation into the electronic music scene.
Over the years Mocky has released albums / singles / remixes / co-productions and co-writings on his own and other labels like Four Music/Fine Records, V2, Gomma, Kitty-Yo, Polydor or Labels/EMI and has worked with artists including Peaches, Gonzales, The Puppetmastaz or Kevin Blechdom.Since "Are + Be" Mocky has been busy in the studio doing remixes for Feist and others, as well as coproducing a bunch of tracks with Jamie Lidell for his album "Mulitiply" and Kevin Blechdom for her record "Eat My Heart Out".
